Wonderful stay here for 4 nights with husband and daughter. We had a ‘two doubles’ room, which had lovely comfortable beds and little kitchenette with full size fridge. We enjoyed a lovely complimentary breakfast each morning with fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt and granola. On an evening we went up to the rooftop terrace with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the amazing views and sounds of the city - and the location is excellent, couple blocks from Time square but didn’t feel noisy or busy. It was just as I expected. It was not noisy at all (being so close to Times Square). I booked a room with a bunk bed and it was as small as shown in the pictures so definitely as expected. Stay was comfortable.

The hotel has no breakfast available, just a coupon for a coffe shop next door

Fantastic location as the hotel is close to subway station so can easily get anywhere, but it’s in a more peaceful part of town. There are loads of excellent restaurants and coffee shops around. Our room (two double beds) was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Cozy hotel, nice styling, great rooftop bar, comfy big bed. Amazing location. Would stay again. Very small rooms, so not for all people. Rooftop bar had different (less) opening hours than advertised.

I really appreciated this hotel being my base. The staff were phenomenally friendly, welcoming and helpful. That made a big difference to me as this was my first time in NY, on a ten day trip alone. A big adventure. The mattress was firm (very important) AND there were feather pillows. Close to travel and amenities. It’s listed as three star. I see it as four star. Very good value for money.

My daughter and I had a trip to New York for our big birthdays, hotel was very central close to port authority, walking distance to time square and many other areas. Hotel staff made our visit special for us and are very helpful , friendly , professional and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I would avoid 9th Avenue at night time as it didn’t feel very safe .

This is a fabulous hotel in a great location for pounding the streets of NYc. So close to Penn station. On arrival I was told about all the amenities that were included with the fee and the water and cookies were great. The rooms are small but that is NYC! Definitely be fine for 2 people. Great bathroom The bed was so comfortable and I slept really well and didn’t hear any noise from the streets. A great place to stay

Very convenient location with a great view of Times Square from the window. Very clean and has the perfect amenities - good shampoo, conditioner and a steamer. Comfy beds, great tv, nice atmosphere/decor. Nowhere to put clothing/put away suitcase but as I was only staying a night this did not matter at all.

Good location

The hotel itself is clean and centrally located for NYC tourism in Times Sq. the staff are great, breakfast included was a good start to each day and the price we got through Expedia was a bargain. Be warned that there is a migrant shelter directly opposite the hotel which can be intimidating as large groups hang around outside - the hotel have a regular security guard and the NYPD are outside the shelter all the time.

Nice hotel. Good location for Mid town. The resort fee is ridiculous & just an extra charge disguised. Room was nice & the hotel took into account my requests. Staff very nice. Breakfast fine

Such a great stay here. Right in midtown Manhattan in the heart of the action but at a really reasonable price. The room was small but immaculate. I requested a higher room with a view and the hotel did exactly that for us - the 21st floor with a beautiful view to wake up to. I would definitely recommend staying at CIVILIAN and I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was ideal for its purpose. Close to everything planned for an elderly relative visiting with us.
