Hotel dekat Wallington Hall

"We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast"

"Pub was dated, and our room had a shower/toilet in a pod, so read the small print when booking. The pod was extremely small with little room to manoeuvre and the extractor fan did not work. Also music could be heard in our room from downstairs. The positive is the shower was warm, the staff extremely friendly and the breakfast good. Also the local clientele were warm, friendly and welcoming"

"The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds"

"This is a little gem of an inn. The drive along the way is picturesque and Otterburn itself is darling. Our host for the Old Post Office was very accommodating. We arrived after the normal check-in time and she was very welcoming. Our room was immaculate and our shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast was excellent, including our coffees (flat white and vanilla latte). We also enjoyed the back patio area with plenty of seating. Definitely recommend this inn!"

"Set in beautiful surroundings, full of birds, deer and red squirrels. Room was pleasant, clean and spacious. Lovely friendly gentleman looked after us and gave us great information about the local area. Very peaceful place to stay, great value for money and would definitely stay again"

"I stayed in the dog friendly room which was ok but not great. The carpets were stained and when we first walked in the room we could smell dog it wasn't a fresh smell. There was a half used toilet roll in our bathroom and no fan so it steamed up quite quickly. The room was at the bottom of the beer garden so was very noisy which wasn't that much of a problem. "Great place to stay. In a great location for walking holiday and visiting local attractions. Place was kept in excellent condition. Lovely views of the hills and to watch the sun go down on a night. Nice bottle of wine left by the hosts for your arrival. Left to you own devices by the owners unless you had a problem. Would definitely stay again. "
