I was very disappointed—the room we received was quite run-down and poorly maintained, which did not meet expectations. The staff were friendly and tried to help, but unfortunately there was little they could do to improve the situation.

The check in was easy and the staff were very friendly. When we got to our room there was an overwhelming smell of furniture polish. I opened the windows, my wife changed her shoes and we went out. On our return my wife changed back into her boots and then remarked that she could smell cat urine. I confirmed that a cat had urinated on the carpet. It was obvious that the cleaners had tried to disguise the cat pee smell with furniture polish. I informed the manager and asked for another room. The first one had an overpowering smell of stale tobacco and the second one had a less overpowering smell of stale tobacco. When we settled in to the room my wife realised she had stood in the cat pee and the left sock, shoe and boot stank of urine. In the morning we had a very reasonable breakfast for £12.50. We informed the receptionist that my wife had stepped in cat pee in the first room, her footwear was ruined and we would not be staying there for our booking for a second night I appreciate that it is a pet friendly hotel but covering up filth is not acceptable and cat pee is a hazard to health for children. I can’t recommend this hotel unless you desperately need to as you are travelling with a pet.

Staff support was lacking, only the fellow that helped me with my suitcases and the waitress serving breakfast were friendly and pleasant. The front desk ladies were snobbish, never greets, looked at me as if I were insignificant and not supposed to be there. The front desk lady was the worst of them all. Never cracks a smile, ignors my questions when i was seeking the hotel address. Answers with a troubling hum to me, a guest asking for direction with a very disapproving demeanor. At one morning, she was stretching when i passed to go for breakfast but b4 I could pick my plate, she must have sped, left her post to run to me in the restaurant and asked if I was a guest and my room number and

Parking is very limited at the hotel, We prebooked at the nearby multi-story for £10 all day. The hotel is 20 minutes walk to the Metroplitan Tube or Watford Junction. The booking requires a further £50 Pre-authorisation at the reception desk. The room was basic. It was warm and appeared clean. If you can get over the 1980s decor the bathroom was functional and the shower powerful. The bed was not very comfortable, and we were woken up around 5am by the noisy extractor fan for the kitchen. We had breakfast at a local cafe which is 5 minutes away in the town centre and the hotel wanted £30 for breakfast. I would rate this an upper 2 star hotel.

Clean and tidy. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Sadly, there was a noise akin to a vacuum cleaner running on the floor above intermittently throughout the night. If you're a light sleeper I'd avoid this one. Otherwise it was good value and perfectly comfortable.

Myself and my wife had a great stay, clean room, comfy bed and hotel 15mins walk to the underground and Watford centre. When we arrived the person on reception was very nice and helpful. When I asked about the parking he advised that the car park was full I explained that I had arranged parking just incase this happened in a nearby car park. He then advised me that I could have parked in a car park just across the road for a discounted rate of £4 per 24hrs, I did advise him that on your website it does state the following:Free parking available. Charged offsite parking cost of £10.00 (per 24 hours). Street parking is not available. I had payed more than the £4 per 24hrs for our 4 night stay. If I was aware of this parking offer then I would have stayed in the nearer parking option. This did not in anyway spoil the stay as all the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. I will be staying again.

The hotel really needs some updating didn’t offer me breakfast or anything like it didn’t tell me it was included I stay two nights after the first night they entered into my room without knocking or anything they didn’t even knock on the door. They just burst right in. They said oh I thought you checked out and it was a male that works there and I’m a female and thank God I just wasn’t getting out of the shower because I was just about ready to jump in the shower when the guy burst into my room because I thought you checked out. I booked two reservations independently, but still you think you would knock on the door before you burst into the room. For the money they’re asking for the facility that they’re running come on who’s kidding who If it was $40 or more less, I wouldn’t be talking like this you get what you pay for

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room has everything you want from a budget hotel. Car park could be a little bigger but that's just the nature of the area. Sound proofing from outside wasn't over the top - you can hear the urban noise outside which is more relaxing to a city boy than triple glazed and clinically quiet rooms in some hotel chains. The room was a clean and tidy and the water pressure on the shower was excellent. The bed was comfy and gave me a great night's sleep which is the exact purpose of the hotel. The rooms do feel tired and like they could do with a refurb (you can see evidence of maintenance work over time) - but hey, it cost me £44, so no complaints. WiFi didn't quite reach the room reliabily (end of the corridor), but 5g signal was very good (on both three and ee) so this didn't affect me at all. Would definitely recommend - you're getting a good night's sleep in a fairly propositioned establishment for a very fair price.
