"Unfortunately the hotel had some problems in the kitchen which impacted very badly on the menu for dinner, the breakfast, service (so slow) and noise. It would have been better to fix the problems before reopening or to have had the courtesy to let us know in advance what the situation was. I would have stayed somewhere else. Extremely disappointing as I’ve had lovely stays here in the past. "

"Very dated decor ( not necessarily Victorian!) so many higgldy pickdly steps and differing floor levels all over the place. Was a pleasant stay but definitely not for anyone with mobility concern. "

"We had a wonderful stay. The room was perfect and loved wandering through the gardens and nearby walks despite the weather. Cosy evening by the fireplace, red wine and board games. The Christmas decorations were tasteful and festive. Fantastic team of staff and look forward to returning."

"My room was in the coach house, just outside tje doors of the main building. It was very clean with just baked biscuits and Tregothnan tea. A gorgeous view of the garden was welcoming on arrival."

On both occasions we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and both tumes we have been impressed by the friendy, helpful staff and how clean and well maintained the hotel is kept. At breakfast there is a fantastic choice of cereal, pastries, fruit. cold meats and a cooked breakfast. "
