"Arrived and greeted by the most incredibly kind staff. They really couldnt have given us any more to make us feel welcome. Want to give a huge thanks to Robin on reception. My husband has a neck injury and the staff even offered to get pain medications from the local Pharmacist for us. The food in 1881 resturant within the grand hotel was delicious and served by Felix. What a kind gentleman he was also. Even making my young boy happy by giving him free mocktails! Both inside and outsoor pools...

"Didn't like repeated auto emails asking for self check in and credit card details for incidentals. Didn't like silly health and safety window locks that didn't allow airflow into room. Fans are not at all adequate on hot days. I wonder where health and safety stands if one faints due to the heat on hot days or the risk or access if there is a fire. I did like that reception staff was very helpful to find me another room on the cooler side of the building. TVs need upgrading to Smart TVs. "

"One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in lovely big shower. The food was magnificent.A lot of choice of local produce perfectly cooked and coped wonderfully with my allergies. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were so friendly safe car park situated in lovely village with with beautiful dark skies for viewing the stars nice and peaceful we will be back"

"We stayed for two nights to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel has such character and is on a beautiful island with amazing views in every direction. We particularly enjoyed a swim in the mermaid pool and dinner in the Pilchard Inn. The highlight was dressing for dinner and dining in the grand ballroom on my birthday. "Loved the room, it was a comfy bed and had all the amenities we needed. The staff were helpful, chatty and very welcoming. We had breakfast most days and lunch on the day we didn’t in the pub downstairs and Alex even remembered what sauce we liked! The pub had a fab atmosphere, the food was lush and the cocktails were gorgeous. Would definitely stay again 💕❤️😍"
