"We checked into the hotel they checked us in. We gave them the deposit and after that the lady at the front desk, she pulled a parking ticket she said is $40 for parking. I told her why you never told me before we check in. I never paid parking so they waived the parking fee because I’m a handicap then right after that she pulled another trick make us pay $35. I don’t understand why and a lot of people were complaining so that’s it no more stay there."

"The staff was welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was exceptionally clean and included everything we needed, including a convenient kitchenette. The hotel is located in a safe area, which made us feel comfortable during our visit. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others."

"Room was a little small but functional. Floor was not completely clean. No elevator to get from parking garage below ground or to reach second floor rooms. Bed was adequate for one nights stay. A/c unit was good. Included breakfast was barely adequate with minimal continental breakfast offerings. Good if you're on a budget."

"Bathroom was filthy, two lights did not work, saw two bugs, though it said non-smoking the room stunk of it maybe from people smoking outside the AC unit. Mattress was horrible. It was booked for us by a family member for four nights, we never spent the night there and asked for a refund which we did receive."

"The Surfside is an unpretentious and basic motel, but it does this very well. The motel, while dated, appears to be well maintained, the host greeted us with a warm welcome, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. It is four blocks from the beach and it has a great breakfast place "Wildflower Cafe" a short walk away. I highly recommend it."
