"Check in stated 4 pm and then I got a text saying it would be delayed to 4:30- we arrived at 4:50 and the room was still being cleaned. Almost everything in the room was broken- shower handles, the couch-bed, AC, and more. the code to our room was the same as the one given to all customers for the front door so it felt unsafe, like anyone could come in. it was loud outside and sometimes really cold. "Great location in the Gaslamp. Travelers: Mom and 12yr old child. The lobby looks much nicer in photos than it does in person. It’s not bad, but the pictures make it seem larger and more upscale than it actually is. We stayed in a single room with a private bath. The room had a bit of an odd odor—likely a mix of an older building and cleaning products. The bed was a bunk (twin over full), which was unexpected; based on the photos, I thought it would be just a full-size bed. It was too squeaky...
