The breakfasts and overall service were consistently impressive, and the location—just a short two‑block walk from the downtown area filled with shops and restaurants—made exploring especially convenient. Even with the Garden Jubilee taking place and the weekend being rainy, it was still an enjoyable visit, made better by having such a comfortable and well‑situated place to stay."

"There were some cleanliness issues that forced us to move rooms the first night. The GM was very accommodating and helped us out fully. Despite this incident, this was one of the nicest and most modern hotels we've ever stayed at. I would definitely stay here again!"

"The sink was slow draining. The shower was too hot and when you tried to adjust it by turning it towards the cold, the water just trickled out and it was still too hot! The floor was so dirty my feet were black and had to be washed from walking across it. The staff was nice. The breakfast was fine: waffles, frozen Jimmy Dean egg sausage, cheese croissants, cereal, toast, bagels. "

"Check in was great after being on the road for 15 hrs with too dogs. Room was very clean well maintained kinda small but nice. Bed was comfortable but loud when you moved around.
Asheville is dog city USA. Holding that name and being a dog friendly hotel they should have a small dog area or going to restroom or hanging out there wasn’t anything like this. over all 4 out of 5 would stay again for sure price was right"

The hotel was like a museum for the original jail with information on display. The room we stayed in had several original features of the old jail."

"The staff was friendly, especially the blonde lady at the front, forgot to get her name. Also, Ms. Kathy that was in charge of breakfast has the best personality. She takes pride in her breakfast making skills and is on top of having enough food to feed the crowds. I would definitely stay here again, felt very welcoming. The shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion provided in the room was also very helpful."
