On a sunny day, buy ice cream for your kids and head to Central Beach. Find your own spot on the sandy stretch and lay down a blanket to sunbathe as you listen to the soothing waves. Much of the fun in the heart of the city is based around the Blackpool Central Pier. For rainy days, visit the elegant Winter Gardens Blackpool entertainment complex. Watch a performance at its Opera House Theatre and see a gig at the Empress Ballroom, where the Rolling Stones, Oasis and Ed Sheeran have performed. Bring the little ones to SEA LIFE Blackpool and Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

The district occupies the heart of Blackpool, in the northwestern part of England. Drive north from Liverpool for 55 miles (88 kilometres) to get here in about 75 minutes. Continue north for some of the country’s most scenic terrain, including the Forest of Bowland, Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
