"We have been coming to this location since 2022; I will rate it for pros and cons: PROS .Great food .Very nice bar .Excellent outdoor eating/entertainment area on a creek with a covered bandstand, picnic tables and chairs. . Bands play on the weekends and they are typically very good. CONS: .Large trash cans on the outside entrances that were full when we got there and overflowing when we left 3 days later. Looked terrible. ..The front round and rectangular gazebos used to be great places...

"Planned a short getaway to hike Mount Mitchell and this place could not have been more perfectly located to the trailhead. The Lodge is newly built, and ground are impeccably well maintained. The staff was super helpful. They even came by to drop off a lighter so the firepit could be put to use. They have a common use area with a ktichen and grills that can be utilized which is an added bonus as I don’t recall reading about all they had available to make the stay above and beyond expectations....

"The cabin is cute, but the property beside it looks down on the cabin so not much privacy or a view. There's no dishwasher, oven, or even a hair dryer here. When it rains the water turns rusty, thus is not drinkable and they don't leave bottled water for you or offer to help with that so that limits showers, toilets turned rusty, couldn't make coffee etc. The property was a little overgrown when we arrived as well. But a person came while we were there and cut the grass."
