"Hidden small gem in a rustic setting. We stayed in one of the "hotel" like rooms as we were trying to be budget friendly. We were very impressed with the easy check-in, friendly and helpful staff, and updated room. We had a wonderful breakfast in the morning at their on-site restaurant and our server was friendly and provided some very helpful tips for our day's itinerary. Hope we make it back to this area so we can stay there again."

"The location was pretty however the hotel grounds felt run down. It had a lot of potential but was just not what I would expect. While the rooms were large and beds were comfortable, housekeeping could definitely have been better. There was trash under our bed, and hairs throughout (in the refrigerator, on the bathroom walls, etc). It also looked like upkeep was needed in the rooms. "We stayed in the Lodge. The stairs were a bit of a challenge, but the nice young lady at the desk helped us with our bags. The room had just been cleaned, according to her as she left our bags of outside the door and returned to the front desk. The vacuum must not have been used as there was a cherry pit and threads on the carpet in several places. This is an older building, thin walls and single pane windows. The rooms are small. We faced the front of the building and could hear traffic...

"Gorgeous property with historical fun facts at every turn. Beautiful old architecture and authentic craftsmanship. Given the location and distance to outside amenities expanding the restaurant menu and offering more options in the gift shop would be nice."

"Gabby, who both tends bar and waits on the dining room...ALONE...in June, is a wonderful person and a diligent worker. The two of us really enjoyed talking a bit with her, and admired her attitude. Young man at the desk let us examine the penthouse, and was very proud of its amenities. Also a good working attitude."

"Electricity was out 2 days. While this was not the fault of Grizzly Lodge the failure to have generators available to run the lights was unacceptable since it is not rare for this area to have an outage."

"Fantastic staff all around. We had the stargazer tent with the bathroom. Great size tent. Comfy bed. Food was very good- had breakfast a couple mornings and dinner one night. Convenient 30 min drive to the park entrance, hour from flagstaff for dinners out. Would highly recommend overall."
