"We attended for a wedding, the venue and all the staff were amazing. Our room was missing a put up bed which was organised straight away and many apologies were revieved. The room was spotless although as the bathroom window was open while we partied away, a team of bugs decided to enter and party in our bath tub! Not the hotel's fault but did need to keep the door closed to make sure the party didnt expand to the bedroom and did make us feel a bit yucky by morning. The joys of having nature at your doorstep I guess. None the less a great stay and would stay again"

"Good hotel, we stayed in a garden suite, and the bedroom was spacious, 2 comfortable chairs and a fab bathroom with separate shower, bath and 2 sinks. Liked the coffee maker as well as kettle and it had a fridge. Negatives: the pillows were really soft and they didn't have any other options. The main issue for me was breakfast: I had added to my booking that I was gluten and yeast free. However, the first morning it was not clear what of the hot food was gluten-free, and the chef came and talked to me to clarify. The bar menu has allergen information so why not the breakfast menu. Day 2, I really didn't fancy a cooked breakfast - so apart from fruit and yoghurt there was nothing I could eat. No gluten free cereal, crackers. The manager came over and said he'd never been asked before!!! Day 3, they had got gluten free porridge or granola. In this day and age I can't understand why there isn't more choice. "

"Our stay was truly wonderful from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—rich in history and full of character—and the gardens are simply breathtaking. Being able to walk down to the River Usk and wander for miles through the open fields was such a special experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, making it easy to relax and feel at home. What really set this stay apart, however, was the staff. Every single person we encountered was warm, kind, and welcoming. The dining team were especially lovely and incredibly accommodating, making each meal feel personal and enjoyable. A particularly memorable moment was on the morning of our departure, when the gardener—while tending to the fire—took the time to stop and chat with us about the grounds. It’s those thoughtful, human touches that make a stay truly unforgettable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It was a genuinely special and memorable experience."
