The only negatives was the room we had was facing the inland road side of the hotel was very noisy in the day from traffic and appeared to be no air con in the room . "We didn't make it in time to try the restaurant, but the menu looked great, as was the St Austell beer. We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our rooms in the annex next door. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room had all we needed. Breakfast was from a great selection and we checked out without issue. Fantastic. "

Our stay was somewhat spoiled by drunken guests and their friends in the next room making excessive noise and shouting between 12.30-2.30 am, keeping us awake, security was called twice to try and resolve and did offer us a rom change in the middle of the night which was not practical. On speaking to Harry the manager it appears this was not the only case that evening. The hotel should consider introducing a quiet policy after 12 with...

"Whilst there are elements of faded grandeur to The Imperial it has done its best to keep up with the times. The common areas of the hotel are simply splendid: the wide staircases, the spacious corridors, the breakfast and dining areas, the bar, and the magnificent views of the coastline and the bay.
