"The Lister Arms Google review summary 4.6 2,880 reviews 5 ★ 4 ★ 3 ★ 2 ★ 1 ★ I don't know where to start in complimenting our wonderful stay at the Lister Arms. As you approach, you see this beautiful and historic hotel that is right out of a period British Masterpiece Theater. It was everything that we wanted in rural English charm. The staff greeted us very warmly and continued to be that way for the entire week. The knew that we were tired from our overnight flight from the States, so they got us into a room as soon as they could, so we could get some rest before dinner. The cuisine at their restaurant is extremely excellent. We loved that they offered typical British standards along with other options. We fell in love with their quaint pub and spent many hours there. After our first night at the original hotel they moved us to their nearby Farmhouse. The recently remodeled Farmhouse was amazing and the short walk across an ancient bridge with a bubbling brook was so charming. We were delighted that we picked this hotel in tiny Malham to stay while visiting the Yorkshire Dales. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel as a base on seeing this incredibly beautiful English countryside. ♥️🇬🇧👍"

"Beautiful grounds, accommodation spotlessly clean. Restaurant was delightfully decorated and food was amazing. We had a slight issue with the electric’s in our room. The young man at the reception went above and beyond to make sure the issue was sorted. All staff were extremely polite and helpful. Lots in the surrounding area to see and do. Already looking at booking our next stay. Debs"

"Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile."

"We just stayed four nights at this hotel. We enjoyed the location of the property—not to far from Leyburn, Hawes, or Grassington. Good location for short and long walks or hikes. You can walk to the falls from the hotel, and there are footpaths if you want to walk to all three falls. That was fun. Just a quick drive to visit Bolton Castle—worth the visit. We enjoyed the breakfasts—nice selection of pastries, cereals and fruit. And, the selection of hot items on the breakfast menu was good, as well. We had dinner there on three nights of our stay—we were very happy with everything we ordered. Our room was clean, and a very nice size. The bed was comfortable. The bar had a nice selection of beer, cocktails, and wine. It was a nice place to meet other people during our stay. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again."
