"Small family-run hotel located at a small village. Very well maintained. Room was really comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. It is also conveniently located very close to the PR7 hiking trail. Other highlights of the region, such as Ponte Arouca, are within a 45 minutes radius. I waa happy to stay there. Just beware that there is no restaurant in the hotel nor within walking distance, and neither a supermarket nearby."

"Fantastic grand old property, in an amazing location on the Duoro River, brought to life by the very friendly staff. A private wine tasting was organised for us and was a very enjoyable experience. Elsa was great. It was raining a lot while we were there, so did not get to use the pool. The food menu could be improved. You can get here by train from Porto. Ermida station is just down the road."

"This was our second time staying here and we loved it. Everything about Casa de Canilhas was perfect."

"Hotel was a good location for a wedding venue we were attending, although not much around the area. The breakfast was not very nice, and there were no snacks or food available for people arriving late in the evening. The beds were very comfortable, however there were stains in the bathrooms and communal areas were quite shabby. When walking down some stairs to the pool, they were crumbling beneath my parents feet. It is extremely expensive to get into Porto unless you want to take a 2.5 hour...

"This was one of the most beautiful and peaceful properties I’ve ever stayed at. The staff were incredible, the breakfasts were delicious, and our room was spacious and private. We used the pool every day and spent the evenings lounging on our separate outdoor patio. 10/10 would stay again."
