"We booked this hotel and saw some of the reviews and were really anxious about what it was going to be like BUT and a big BUT we could not fault the stay whatsoever. Spa area was impressive with lots to offer well kept and clean. We had breakfast and the food was spot on. Staff were all super friendly and polite. The mini fridge was broken but still fully stocked with a vast array of drinks. Honestly you will not be disappointed if you go. I read the pool was could etc and for us it was...

"lol when I told my staff where I’d booked they said your staying in the murder hotel (no murders have actually taken place btw) but is there was a hotel you could be murdered in this is the place !!!! I had to share my room with about 25 silver fish insects running around my bathroom and when I showed videos of the rather massive insects I was told we will get pest control out lol ! Course you will ;) the school next door means if you leave for work at anytime between 8-9 am you are not going...

"Car park is being re-done got woken up by diggers in the morning. Not necessarily hotel’s fault but noisy guests slamming doors until midnight & talking outside my room was quite annoying & meant I could not sleep until gone midnight. "

"The Grains bar hotel was selected over others primarily for its location which had several teenage memories. We were visiting family in Smallbridge, Rochdale ... 4miles away, so very convenient. Excellent greeting and first impressions. Ample seating areas, small bar area next to reception, large brekki, dining room but lacked atmosphere. Other rooms (not viewed incl Wedding venue) available. Good meals and menu. Rag pudding...well! Yes, the parking is a tad awkward, ie circa 20 spaces...

"Great that there was free parking, staff were probably the friendliest I’ve ever seen. Rooms over the bar a bit noisy with music, doors banging ect but it does close at 12 so had a good nights sleep. Disappointed breakfast wasn’t provided but there was tea/coffee/ biscuits in the room."

"Room Was Nice On Ground Floor.Had a Stench of Dump With a Dehumidifier in the Room to Cover Up the Smell.Had to Ask For Air Freshener."

"Great place to stay with a warm welcome. Rob and Jan are very friendly hosts, made us feel at home. A short walk into Todmorden and had a lovely day. Had a great sleep in a very comfy bed. All topped off by a lovely breakfast the morning after. Couldn't have asked for more. Hope to be back in the future. Thanks Toothless Mog for a lovely stay! 👍👍👍 "

"Amazing stay, with a full kitchen, living room, bedroom and en-suite. The lodge is detached from a large house but there is dedicated access and the location is perfect! Just round the corner from Heaton Park, which is a lovely bonus. If you want some autonomy and the ability to cook, this is fantastic, one of the best stays I have had and I travel a lot."

"5 minutes walk from Manchester Picadilly station. Perfect location for the city centre. Very handsome hotel. Dark & moody. Staff were especially warm and welcoming. Shout out to the breakfast waitstaff who could not have been more pleasant. Criticisms? Was surprised that the bar closed - even for guests - at 11pm for last orders. Received several invitations prior to my arrival asking if I’d like to upgrade (at a cost ) which I thought was rather tacky. I’ve stayed in some of the finest...
