"The breakfast was very nice but what let this place down was. the following. The continental breakfast wasn't included! Room was very clean. The bathroom was up two steps, which felt weird and the shower area had black mould on a couple of tiles. The floor was extremely uneven, it made us feel like we were on a ship that was listing! The bed was so hard, it felt like we were sleeping on a board. There was a hole in the floorboards covered up with carpet."

As we came by train we could not go and find a place for breakfast. Staff told us there was a cafe where we could eat 2 minutes up the road, it was not a cafe but a service station that sold hot pies. "I was able to check in online before I arrived at The Kicking Dickey. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the pub which I thought was very welcoming. My room was at the rear of the property so away from any noise. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, I think it might of been a converted stable. Nice functional bathroom with a shower and a very comfortable single bed. Lots of free parking outside the property. All in all well worth a stay."

Special recognition for Tilly, who was very attentive. The fire alarm went off 12 times in the night, really? The room, No. 17, was way too hot, maybe that's what triggered the alarm? The heated towel rail was on full and I couldn't see how to turn it off. The bathroom extractor fan ran on for ages."

We have an 8 month old and when booking did discuss needing a fridge for expressed milk feeding which they said was fine for a £30 refundable deposit.
