"Room was cold so we put on the a/c. It blew cold air continually. We thought it would eventually blow warm air. At 3am my husband was so cold we decided to leave for home. The checkout lady told us we should have gone to her as it’s controlled at reception. Would have been good to know this."

"Comfy room, generous towels. Arrived late Friday evening, no bother getting a table in the pub downstairs for food- they don't take table reservations, so I wasn't at a disadvantage. Good wide choice on the menu and attentive service. There was a nightwatchman for after hours- what a treasure! He showed me how to access once the pub was closed, helped me empty the bags from the car and carried them to our room all with a friendly, nothing was too much trouble approach. "Pleasant stay at the Seaton Lane Inn with a little hiccup of no towels in the room on arrival but was remedied straightaway. Check in was quick and easy although steep stairs to the upper level of the Inn rooms. May be a little difficult for older people to negotiate these. Had food in the restraunt one night and enjoyed the steak which was cooked as asked and the service was also good from the waiter. Check out was also quick and easy so a very good stay at a good hotel."

"Staff were great, the hotel looked stunning and the grounds were amazing. The breakfast was delicious too. The room we had was in the attic so I kept hitting my head, the main light in the room was above the doorway which was around a corner so didn’t really help at all. There was water and hair in the bottom of the shower when we arrived as if someone had only just had a shower. There were patches of damp in the room around the window and on the ceiling."

"I have used this hotel very often in the past But I was shocked how there Standards have dropped. The flood was very poor the service very poor.The lack of singning for there different areas none existent. The room very nice for normal users but for some disabled like me it was a night mare. There was a lack handrails in the shower the shower was fixed and did not detach from the fitted so was to high, Lack of places to put soap bags had to put them on the floor. The radiators were so hot they...

"The night at The Doubletree before our early next day flight, always starts our holiday off and this occasion was again a delight from arrival with warm welcoming staff with tasty cookies through to our evening meal and comfortable bed in a clean quiet room - perfect start!"

"Pleasant stay. Clean room. A not too loud alarm did disturb our sleep a little but it must have been nothing untoward? - fire regulations said to wait in bedroom until otherwise advised... fortunately no such advice was forthcoming!"

"Spacious family room, however very hot and no A/C. Some window would open, others the hinge was faulty so did not stay open. Cleanliness ok."

"Good night sleep, kind staff and reasonable breakfast. However, the hotel has seen better days, it is very tired, the bathroom has mould and even if it had been cleaned ….we could say it was not “gleaming”. It was reasonable for the price but it was not near as nice as the photographs!"

"My private room was clean and equipped with a nice premium range of toiletries. Free tee, coffee and hot chocolate station was a nice touch too, and reception staff kindly kept some milk for me in the fridge."

"Pleasantly surprised for the price we payed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Rooms clean and spacious. Although no tea and coffee facilities in the room. These were available in the reception area at no extra cost. I was able to park at the back of the hotel but parking is limited. Will definitely stay here again and recommend Cost of an uber was approx £6 to Newcastle town centre."
