We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. "The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The carpet was stained. The tea and coffee was good. Car parking could be an issue as it has limited spaces. You cannot pre book its first come gets the spaces. Breakfast was good. I would use the hotel again. Staff were friendly and helpful."

"The grounds are stunning with so much potential but it feels very much a work in progress. We used paddle boards on the lake, which was fab but an additional charge on top of a very expensive room. The sauna wasn’t quite up to heat, we stoked the wood burning hot tub for a dip, tried the lake to cool off and the cold plunge was unfortunately empty. The room was nice and clean. I booked the junior suite but ended up getting a suite. It didn’t feel any more special than a deluxe room elsewhere...
