"The Thames Head Inn is a great gem. It's about a 1 mile walk from the Kemble train station, I walked alongside the road since taxi service is scarce and had no problems. There aren't any other businesses nearby, so I ate dinner there as well (delicious) and paid for breakfast the next morning (also delicious). "Lovely country pub experience, perfectly positioned for our planned activities and visits. Friendly local frequented by friendly locals, and staffed with helpful and friendly staff. "

"This is the perfect location to explore Burton-on-the-Water as you are right in the center of town. Check-in was easy and so was parking. The staff are very friendly and the gentleman that makes the drinks has a great sense of humor. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable although the location of our room was very noisy as it is right where all the deliveries occur for the hotel so we could hear vans driving on the gravel and opening doors during the night (Room 10). I would stay here...
