"This was a diamond in the ruff...that needs some TLC. I'm not really sure the back story but this is a 'no frills' stay. The rooms have n o drinking water or coffee makers, instead you get a shared kitchen with refrigerator space. At first, we thought this was a little unusual but there's a store half a block away and a coffee shop next door. The room was super clean and cozy. There is A/C and good WiFi but no TV. The property is really special and this is why I give this a high score. The pool is awesome - it is not chlorinated but it's very clean. The pool and beach chairs are in need of TLC and the could use some shade but all in all you can get comfortable with stealing cushions from chairs to make the old beach chairs work. The property is very well maintained and the staff was very responsive when we had questions. Since the hotel was recently sold - I believe the new owners are building a large project across the street and will either tear this hotel down or renovate this great place. A lot of building will be happening so, I don't know what the future we be like when it comes to tranquility. "

"This has the potential to be an amazing spot. The rooms are nice with large balconies and nice amenities. However, there is music blasting every night, which can make it challenging to rest and relax. The staff were friendly and food and drinks were good. When I stayed there was a Somnia party happening - this was advertised to end at 11:30 pm, however that did not happen - music was blaring until after 1:30 AM, making it impossible to sleep, even with earplugs in - which made it so we were too tired to wake up early and enjoy our time the next day. I would only recommend staying here if you are ok partying late. "

"Clean rooms but they had a musty smell. Also, a nightlight in the bathroom would have been nice, you had to turn on all the bathroom lights in the middle of the night which was blinding. Drinks were mediocre. They brought individual beer in a small bucket of ice, which was very nice. Guacamole and ceviche were excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good. Beach is gorgeous. "

"The hotel was incredible we will certainly be planning a return trip in the future. The food was absolutely incredible, particularly breakfast and lunch. The breakfast buffet is luxurious with the perfect blend of classic breakfast items, a beautiful fruit platter and classic Mexican dishes. Lunch you can order to your sun lounger or go to the restaurants. The poke bowl, pork tostones, chicken burrito and prawn tacos where some of our regulars and were always delicious. The staff were attentive and would always go the extra mile. Karen and Karim were both standouts for us and they really made you feel special weather it was there attentive nature or just their genuine interest in conversation. The drinks are also great, The mango margaritas were particularly exceptional. We honestly had the best time. The rooms are beautiful and bed was super comfy. My one very small criticism is there is nowhere to hang bath robes or clothes you want to steam (there's a steamer in the room) we ended up hanging clothes precariously on light fixtures but that was a very very small problem with an otherwise perfect room. And any issues you have the front desk are always willing to help and fix them for you quickly. We had problems with plugs in the bath and sink and were both fixed within a few hours. I'd suggest some small hooks in the room that would really help the functionality of the space. Ultimately you will not regret coming here it is a peaceful paradise."

"The room was huge and spotlessly clean with a fantastic sea view. Lovely big balcony with sun loungers overlooking the sea. Well equipped kitchen. Clarita was a very kind and friendly host. There is also a roof top terrace where u can see both coasts so you can watch sunrise or sunset from the same spot. "

"Super comfortable bed, well appointed, clean room, spacious shower. the courtyard area is lovely and you can have a drink or a meal right on the water, and enjoy sunsets from the dock. Staff was excellent and so accommodating. This hotel is an easy 15-20 minute walk into town. We had a truly wonderful stay at Bahia Tolok."

"The ocean view king room is in a state of disrepair. The balcony door does not latch, so a slide lock was added but this does not seal it enough to keep out the stink from the sewage treatment plant. Blinds covered in handprints, grubby walls, water damaged main door, heavily corroded bathroom mirrors, no hot water and a very sad breakfast to boot. We prepaid for one week and left after one night - the property refused any refund (all the booking options we saw were non-refundable) BEWARE."
