"The room was very clean and looked like it was recently renovated. There were also no odors, which is important to us as we are allergic to pets and dislike the smell of smoke. I personally liked that the room didn’t have carpeting as it made for a cleaner floor. The motel is on a semi busy street so there is some street noise but the motel was thoughtful enough to provide ear plugs for those who needed it. There are also limited parking spots that’s offered on a first come first served basis....

"The absolute best bed & breakfast in San Francisco! Cleanest rooms, friendliest and most attentive staff, great location, most delicious breakfasts and snacks/baked goodies throughout the day. Our son graduated from USF this past Saturday and we’ve consistently stayed here. On our next trip to S.F., just to visit and explore more we’ll stay there again!"

"clean and in a good spot. Felt very safe. A lot of the stuff is new and seems like it’s ikea furniture so I’m not sure how long it will last but looks great. Whoever redid the motel took some shortcuts when redoing it (the grouting, bathroom sink wobbles, bathroom door didn’t latch when you shut it) but all and all it was very nice and definitely recommend staying again."

"The price, location and free (limited) parking is what brings me back to this hotel - I have stayed four times. The bed is comfortable. Staff have always been friendly. The area is quiet. Everything else is ok. I will be back."

"Stayed here for a couple of weeks. Bed is large and comfy, and the room is adequate with a little couch. The housekeepers are really nice. There's a little window for some sunlight though you'll want to turn on the light during the day. Great stay, no weird smells. Only thing is you will hear laughing/drunk people/bar music on the weekend nights but just turn on the ac/heater and it will drown them out haha."

"The room and bed were very clean. I appreciate that they use a white duvet instead of the normal brown hotel ones. It made me feel good about the cleanliness of the bed. The shower itself was a bit old so it “looked” dirty but worked fine. We couldn’t get the tv to turn on but it wasn’t a big deal since we didn’t spend much time in the room. Overall, happy with the stay and would book again."

"We were in a room on Fillmore street across from a beer garden. To no fault of the hotel, we had a lot of noise that made it hard to sleep until after the bar closed each night. That being said, the room was perfect, the car was safe, we had an incredible stay. Next time I’ll bring earplugs and will stay here again and again. Thank you all!"

"Small rooms with very limited parking. Although street parking is free on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) but finding a spot is challenge. No microwave in room. If you stay for more than 1 night they do clean rooms every day and replace all towels and do the bedding as well. Overall its a decent place to stay for the price. Pros:- Very close to golden gate, public transport is good, waterfront is close, lots of food option near by Cons:- Limited parking, No microwave, small room"

"Perfect location! Parking helps a lot! Cause in the city I really didn't need a car. Easier to use a bus/uber or walk. Safe and beautiful area with a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants. Motel is simple and nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. A complimentary breakfast includes a coffee machine and a pre packed pastries. I had my own electric kettle and a French press so I didn't;t try those. A bit spotty WiFi/reception but I was working for a week from it and it was ok. Coming back!"

"I had a great stay at the Surf Motel on Lombard Street. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome throughout my visit. The location is excellent. I was able to walk to nearby stores, restaurants, and the waterfront, which made getting around San Francisco easy and convenient without needing to drive everywhere. The price was outstanding, especially considering the location. It's hard to find this kind of value in San Francisco. If you're looking for a clean, affordable...

"When I was here (prior to 2019) our room had a small fridge. This time, not only no fridge, but no ice machine on the property. Even the worst Motel 6 has ice machines on property and there was no indication of that on your motel information page."
