Extremely friendly and helpful staff and superb breakfasts - awards for which are well deserved. If you’re fit it’s a 10 - 12 minute walk down into the town 20 minutes back (it’s a bit of a pull up the hill). Very highly recommended "

"What a wonderful place to rest your head whenever in the Keswick area. The owners go out of their way to make you feel very welcome even to the point of running me in to town. Portinscale lies on the banks of Derwent water and is ideally located for Keswick and the Western Lakes and a stay at the Dalegarth is highly recommended"
