"The hotel is located in a bad, sketchy area and I did not feel safe during my stay. The room lacked basic amenities such as a safe, microwave, glasses, and tea/coffee facilities. "The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! "

"My STRONG advice is to pay extra for a superior room.
I stayed the economy double and it was not nice. Do not stay in 113, we had roaches in our room. I also stayed in 43 (I think) no roaches. I will upload a picture of our view from 113. Looked at a wall with peeling paint.
Pros of hotel:
- Upper level rooms look nice (Superior rooms)
- Included Breakfast is cooked to order, nice and fast!
- Staff is nice
- Close to town. You can walk to the ferry terminal. save $20 each in cab fare...
