"An Oasis just 80 kms from Tokyo! The hotel scenery envelopes you in lush trees, waterfalls, and rocks. What a delight! The two different Onsen are equally spectacular, but my favorite was the one with the waterfall. Yes, it is on the pricier end, but if you can make it work in your budget, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Staff are all friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious. We had 3 people, so one of us had to “rough it”on a futon. So, three western beds would have been my first preference! Small detail however, as we had a magnificent time."

"I spent two nights solo here, the hot springs bath onsen was the best part!! I felt rejuvenated and relaxed. Location super close, walking distance to train station. Hotel has the Japanese yukata to wear and you really get a taste of Japanese culture and food here. Many snacks and lots of food! Staff very helpful. I got western room with bath on balcony and loved soaking private nights there. Staff English is not fluent but with translators you get by. The garden yard was peaceful too. There are two buildings, I was in back one do a bit of a walk to main area, but not a problem. I would recommend if you want a Japanese experience and be near the train for early morning Hakone loop — best the crowds by staying in Gora."

"I highly recommend this Ryokan for a traditional Japanese experience. The room was spacious, comfortable and I loved the tatami mat! The kaiseki and traditional breakfast meal were exceptional, with beautifully plated dishes. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The onsen was a wonderful place to unwind, with three options available - be sure to book in advance to secure a private timeslot. The nearby antique museum is also worth exploring if you have some free time. Overall, I had a fantastic and relaxing stay at this Ryokan, which provided a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city."
