"This was an amazing ryokan. The food was very good, and the private onsen was incredibly relaxing. The hosts were nice and we had a great stay. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a more intimate experience than the traditional big public onsens."

"Lovely spacious hotel with a traditional Japanese onsen. Staff were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, hotel does not accommodate vegetarians very well. Though there is vegetarian options for breakfast, there is nothing available at other times. Additionally they have eco housekeeping policy where they just leave fresh towels and toiletries outside your room. Any trash has to be left outside the room for it to be cleared. "

"Such a lovely boutique hotel with beautiful facilities. Amazing hospitality - the staff made us feel very welcome. Our first Ryokan experience couldn't have been better. There is a Family Mart nearby and the Ashi Lake is only a 15 minutes bus ride away. We hope to be back soon!"

"Despite the beautiful location of the hotel, the staff and facilities were unfortunately very uninviting. No amenities were given and everything had to be bought at an extra cost. Additionally the hotel bar did not have change so you had to pay with the exact amount if you wanted to get a drink. Finally, the room itself was decent, felt clean but unfortunately the futons were extremely uncomfortable (and I sleep on Japanese futon very often). Don't count out hakone from your trip but I would...

"Clean and spacious room. The beds on the floor were not very comfortable, especially the pillows. Staff was very helpful in making arrangements when possible although they did not seem to know much about the Five Lakes area. Overall if you are interested in Hakone/Gora this is a great property. "

"Very decent spot near the Fun2Drive rental place. Nice classic nature peaces and classic grandfather clocks which is a little creepy at night but still a nice place to stay."

"No elevator, carrying luggages to 3rd floor with no staff to help was hard. Location is excellent 2 min from Gora station and cable car to major attraction in Hakone is a plus. Any food or bus stops are 12-14 min walk but the only way is through a very hard long stairs."

"This was our first time staying at an Onsen, and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly, and I must say the Breakfast was great. The Onsen was fantastic, it is certainly different than being in a “jacuzzi” or “hot tub”. As for the sleeping, surprisingly comfortable, it is no wonder Tatami Mats have been used even to this day. If you’re a curious first timer I definitely would recommend staying here. The staff going above and beyond for guests is more than enough a reason to stay here."

"The staff was incredibly helpful. They stored our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which allowed us to sightsee comfortably without our bags. They also offered a wonderful complimentary breakfast. place very nice, clean and convenient location to access to where we wanted to visit. "

The food was high quality and there seemed to be a bit of everything of everyone. The staff were lovely and helpful, always answering our questions and trying to help in any way that they could. We were a bit disappointed with our room. It seemed a bit tired and cramped for the price we paid. There were no drawers or cupboards to put our clothes in, so...
