"The shower area was great. The room was comfortable. All nicely done. The area it was in is up and coming. There is no elevator, so if you are in rooms 5,6,7 or 8 plan on going up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. Parking is close by."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, proper old school feel and style that you don’t get any more. Never want to stay in a Travel Lodge again!! The staff were the highlight. Hurraaahhhh for Moira and her 2 lady helpers 🙌 Excellent breakfast. We will definitely stay again. Clare & Kevin Brooks"

"Brilliant stay, the staff and the owner were great very homey and warm atmosphere. Very kindly made me an early breakfast each day as I had to be up for a training course. Rooms were clean tidy and brilliantly sound proofed as I heard nothing from the bar downstairs. Great little place would highly recommend."

"I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). "

"First off when arriving at the property there was no onsite parking as advertised, there was parking to the rear which you would think were for there but was told it was private and was not anything to do with the property and told there was small parking bays just up from the front of the property which were on a public road and were all full, to me this is not classed as onsite parking, onsite parking is parking designated for the property and owned by the property. "Was alright, nothing to complain about! Positive nowadays. Place was nice clean and tidy had everything we needed. Right in the centre of what we needed."

"The studio flat was excellent with a well equipped kitchen and it was all very clean. The "host" Kathryn was excellent at communicating with me - I had a couple of queries and she was VERY responsive and helpful."

"My family and I enjoyed the stay at this property. Beds were comfortable, hot showers and plenty of bath water for a long soak after walking up Pen Y Fan which is just down the road. Kitchen well equipped, lots of space at the dining table. Stairs to the bedroom are steep which is normal for this type of cottage. There is a lovely outdoor space at the back. The owners went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right for us. "

"Our recent birthday holiday stay had its positives, but unfortunately, it didn't fully meet our expectations. The communication with the hosts was excellent—they were welcoming and even greeted us with Welsh cakes and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my birthday, which was a lovely touch. The interior of the property was well done up, reflecting the effort put into its presentation. However, the location was not what we had anticipated. In hindsight, we should have checked the street view more...
