"Our rooms were disgusting, so much so that we ended up not paying. There was a new manager one week into his job, he was very apologetic but could do nothing about the multiple issues. The room was full of insects, furniture falling apart, we had a lamp with no electric cable attached, it looked like the rooms had been added to the building at a later date and work was still going on. The stairs up had electric wires hanging out and dangerous drops where railings should be protected by nailed on...

"First, this is not a 4 star hotel not even closed to a motel. Even its name is not Lake Wind Hotel but Lake Wind Resort. There is no services whatsoever, and room is at horrible condition. Can’t believe I paid $100 usd for this crap. Checked out the pics with direct water and half dead cockroach in our room. Thank you hotels.com for listing this as a 4 star - I won’t trust your filter anymore. This is the worth place among all my stays in 4/5 hotels in Sri Lanka. Avoid at all costs!!!"

"Hotel staff was really nice. Room was clean and AC worked well. They prepared a fresh good breakfast for us when we returned from our safari and gave us a nice fruit juice at checkin. Only small issue was that there are lots of bugs around (mostly outside). "

"Had trouble at first with staff saying booking didnt go through so had to contact hotels via X to sort out. The one staff was a great guy, so freindly and helpful, i was in the area to visit national park and he arranged this for me. Only problem with hotel is internet did not work, and no phone reception in that area either. "
