"On entering the hotel you will be met by warm and inviting staff. off to the left of the reception is an insanely stocked whisky lounge but prices are on the steep side for you average dram. There is a 24 bar located en route to the rooms and an Aperol was £18!!! scandalous. "There was a large party downstairs (floor below) on the Saturday night we stayed there. Music from DJ was very loud and pounding/felt in our room until after midnight preventing sleep. The Restaurant was unavailable due to the party. I wouldn’t recommend booking a room on this property when the downstairs facilities are booked in this way."

If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. "My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Marshall Meadows Manor House. We stayed one night, but ate dinner and the included breakfast at the hotel. The room was clean, the food excellent, and the staff genuinely helpful. The manager assisted with luggage, provided us with helpful advice for our destination the following day, and was very attentive while also serving at the restaurant. "It is such an unusual venue renovated by owners and a life’s achievement and still renovating- you have got to go to experience its uniqueness / great array of stuff for breakie and there is a Antique Centre run by Peters wife - a must!"

"The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....
