"This was the first hotel of seven we stayed at on a two week tour of the North and Scotland. And to be honest, it was one of the best. The staff were great, especially Julia in the bar/restaurant. The food was good, it was good value and we were able to park our car right outside our room, which made unpacking and packing easy. Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you. "

"The room was decorated very nicely, but the door for room 8 did not fit the frame very well and light came in all around the door and along the bottom. Also this was not a fire door, which my wife was very concerned about. As we did not check in until after 10pm, the night manager did offer us a different room, but stated all the doors were the same. She was also concerned as the lock did not work. When I booked the room on the confirmation email it did say about some noise, but our room was directly adjacent to the fans for the kitchens and these were running all night. I had a cooked breakfast which was average, my wife had croissants and a fruit salad with yoghurt. The croissants were very nice and there was plenty of jam, but the fruit salad contained several pieces of fruit that were past their best."

"Spacious family room which worked really well for two humans and one pooch for a night. Room at the back of the pub which was really really quiet and peaceful overnight. Such a shame the double glazing has blown and the view out over the fields was obscured as it was lovely. Good sized hot shower. A few hooks on doors and towel rails would be the only thing to add to the space. Lovely original character features in the room. Very comfortable beds made for a good night's sleep for all 3! Great dog walks on the doorstep of this dog accomodating accommodation. Good breakfast with bacon, egg and mushrooms cooked to perfection! Would stay again and recommend to stay at this friendly establishment."

"Excellent apart from 2 points, the bath plug didn't fit so we couldn't have a bath and the neighbouring room decided they would have a full scale row at 12 a.m, maybe part of the wedding reception guests from that evening maybe but all in all, we would definitely stay again."
