"We found this a bit of a mixed experience. As we arrived very late, we only noticed the exterior the next morning. The building is clearly a 1960/70s structure, and the concrete architecture is quite stark and not particularly appealing. However, It’s clear the hotel is in the process of being refurbished, with the entrance and hallways already completed to a very high standard—they feel grand and welcoming. "The lift was out of order and will be for the next month I believe. The hotel is in need of an update and the beds are not comfortable. The staff were excellent though, very helpful and kind. No shuttle to the airport but an easy walk to it. Breakfast was alright but was a charge. Kids eat free for breakfast which was nice. "

"Stayed in a superior pod, very contemporary, comfortable, clean, and well insulated from the weather with lovely views of the loch and mountains. Not much in the immediate area food wise (would need to drive to Balloch for any alternative dining options) but the food at Oaktree was lovely, tasty and filling. Good choice of whisky too."

"The staff are amazing all friendly, cheery and helpful. The hotel has a nice homely feel to it, with a mix of modern and traditional styles. The grounds are immaculate and the rooms are clean and spacious. As for the food it is delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely return."

"Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend St.Leonards Guest House. Lovely room, quirky and very well presented, exceptionally clean and a comfortable bed. Great having the fridge in the room with fresh milk for tea and coffee. Beautiful selection for breakfast. The host Keith was absolutely lovely and went above and beyond during our stay. We would stay here again without hesitation."

"Disappointing stay - room window was taped shut with duct tape. I asked for a ‘nice room’ wasn’t expecting anything fantastic, just a nice room with no duct tape on the windows. "

"Everything was great. Every member of staff - from Reception, restaurant, house cleaning, etc - were so helpful and welcoming, made our stay feel like being at home. Cannot recommend the Eglinton Arms too much. We'll be back."

"OMG! We arrived and I immediately realized my phone fell out of my pocket in the taxi. Claire was outstanding as I was losing my composure and she was very calming. She knew what to do to help me get my phone back and brought my phone to me with some prosecco! "
