"We loved that this is an independent hotel and small business. The owner is a local and cares about Montclair. The interior is decorated brilliantly and has a clever motif. For example, the rooms don't have numbers, they have names. Inside each room you will find photos of famous people with that name. "We stay here when we travel back East. It is a convenient Location in Clifton and close to Target, Applebee's, and other Shopping Stores without going onto Rt 3. Its ashamed that the attached Old Restaurant Red Robin has closed since our last Visit. Looks like they renovated the property some. We cannot complain about the Breakfast as we ate there Daily."

"The rooms were very nice and impeccably clean. The common areas were clean, but not usable. The advertised "restaurant", looked like a mini cafeteria, but it was closed both times we were there, and looked like it hadn't been in use for a while. "Can use a upgrade, paint peeling, dirty walls, floor had a burn in it from the iron. But for the money you can't complain, This location not kept up like others that I stayed at."

"Entire place smelled like dog piss in the elevators, the rugs in the room and in the lobby. Thin walls, loud people, lights in the rooms were terrible and flashing lights in the hallways. Garbage everywhere and food in the surrounding area is bad."
