"We were checked in by a really lovely helpful young girl on reception. She was amazing! Room was ok, large but dated but bed comfy. Pillows hard (but luckily bought ours with us). Went for dinner that evening. Do not recommend. Menu stated roasted carrots and green beans with the pie - came with obviously frozen peas and carrots and a few leeks. Service was terrible - 3 members of staff clustered around entrance, poor service - had to keep get ring up to get own drinks from bar outside restaurant. Dinner staff very unwelcoming- felt like we were a hindrance. Was an ok stay but would not return."

"Good size accessible room and comfortable bed. Check in quick and easy. Accessible room has bars and fold down seat in the walk in shower. It could do with a towel rail, small set of drawers in the bedroom and the sink being further away from the toilet slightly. There is Emergancy cords in the shower and by the toilet. Breakfast was really good and hot. Good selection of food and apple juice or orange juice. Free tea and coffee 24/7. Check out easy and quick. Staff helpful and available 24/7. "

"No problems, breakfast was a bit ‘limited ‘ not much left when I got there, otherwise nice bar adequate room and polite staff. Worked well "

"The check in is in the pub which is fine. Friendly greeting. Parking very close so that's great. Room big. Basic. Shower good. Room has the distant smell of cigarettes. Probably lingering in the sofa bed. My company laptop and mobile wouldn't accept the Marston's WiFi so I had to toggle from my personal phone. Nearby M&S was perfect as I didn't want to dine in the pub."

"Very friendly and welcoming staff. Spacious room, quiet area. Superb food in their restaurant. Close to National Trust properties in the area, would definitely revisit. "

"We were told shortly before arriving that there is no bar or restaurant and no breakfast. I'm not sure if the property is still under the OYO brand? The welcome we had was very good but the bathroom had lots of cobwebs and was not very clean"

"I go away with work most weeks and this has to be up there with one of the best places I have stayed in. Would love to come back in the summer. I’ve now booked up for my third successive week. The kitchen is perfect, plenty of work space and well laid out. Bit of confusion over the microwave until I realised it was built into the oven. Maybe do with a washing machine. Great surroundings and a great place to stay."
