Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

6/10 Okay

"The Oakes hotel has a wonderful location and view of the falls. However, the property itself is pretty bare bones. The rooms are quite dated and show significant wear and tear. The housekeeping staff was seriously short staffed, so the rooms were not ready at the check-in time of 4 pm. The hotel also was suffering some damage from water, so they had to rebook a bunch of people to another local hotel. The rooms have a fridge, but no coffee maker. They do offer coffee and hot water in the lobby only. The ice machines are located only on a few floors. Parking on site is priced at $50/night. For the price, I would expect a little bit more in style of the room and comforts available. I understand, it's a tourist town, so money is going to fly out of my hands. I would not hesitate to stay for the view, but if you want a nice room, I will search elsewhere. It's pretty basic."

"Our stay was excellent. Check in and out were smooth. I was not thrilled about the $50(Canadian)/night parking, but what can you say. We had a Fallsview room on the 3rd floor with a shared walkout balcony which was close enough to get spray from the falls. It was a simply spectacular view. I do wish there were a few more outlets to charge items, but there were enough. The hotel is at the beginning of the strip and was very close to the most locations to visit. I would recommend."

The Tower Hotel Fallsview

10/10 Excellent

"This was our 1st time at this hotelin Canada. The rooms are way up in this tower so they are small but we wanted one with the full view of the falls it didn't disappoint, they have 3 of these rooms. You go up a elevator to get to your rooms and the hallways are narrow and you are actually going Around inside the tower to get to your rooms but we had a spectacular view! It did not disappoint. If you are wanting your vehicle close by its not but it is in a closed lot and they have a shuttle that takes you back and forth. Once we got there and unpacked our car, then we drove our car to the lot with paper instructions and a tag for our vehicle they were there before we got backed in all the way to pick us us up. This hotel is about 5 min from the Rainbow bridge. They have a Ihop restaurant in the hotel for breakfast/lunch and the hotel gave us coupons for them and other restaurants near by. The Ihop restaurant faces the Falls too! Such a wonderful idea and staff were very nice. Also food was excellent 👌. We stayed 2 nights. I recommend staying here if you get a chance there are other hotels on each side of this one but I don't know if they have the same great view or not."

Sheraton Fallsview Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Loved the location and the views of the American falls were phenomenal. Check in was easy and the check in agent was very helpful. The hotel could do better with general cleanliness. Hallways were littered. We found a bunch of long hair in the toilet when we first entered the room after check in (not a great look when you're just checking into your room for the first time). Some finishes need updated. Also, the air conditioniner was so loud it disrupted our sleep each time it went on automatically."
