"Historic character inn with rooms right in the centre of town. Parking is available in nearby municipal pay and display car parks - but do check with the hotel beforehand for details of which to park in as the closest is a short stay with a maximum stay of only 4 hours. There is a separate long stay car park within walking distance. Bedrooms have been stylishly brought up to twenty first century standards. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommended."

"We booked to stay 2 nights, arrived on Friday which was a heatwave day and was told we would get a fan in our room. When there was no fan in the room, we were told they are all allocated out! When questioned the staff, we got attitude and the response was- fine, you can have my fan, I won't have one! The same night it was thunder and lightning so we left the doors open in our room, 3am we got around 30 - 40 wasps fly into our room landing on us! It was horrific. I didn't check in until quite late in the day, and was told my room would be in the 1st not grounds floor which I had asked for. But the reason was the lock on my ground floor was playing up and needed a repair. "Not very clean wouldn't stay again"

"Very nice, older- but kept up Hilton hotel. The Standard room, double bed, is quaint (small to Americans traveling with large suitcases). We juet have carryons & 2 backpacks, so it’s not bad. Very clean! It’s exactly what we needed before our cruise! You can book your taxi for the next day when you check in with the front desk.
