"The cottage was beautiful, well equipped, comfy, cosy, well situated and an absolute gem! Go no further than Frinton Escapes! My first time and the cottage was ideal. Close to ALL amenities in a close, so quiet but everything on its doorstep. Great history behind it too. If you do t go, you will be the loser! "

"Expedia did not relay my original request for a twin-bedded room (we were two elderly ladies) and we were allocated VERY SMALL double bed which was totally unacceptable. Fortunately the hotel were eventually able to arrange a twin-bedded room by splitting a king size bed into two sections and the situation was resolved. BUT it could have spoiled our holiday had a solution not been found (the hotel was fully booked)."

"The hotel was alright but charging nearly a tenner to park in their own car park is a joke. Good breakfast albeit another £30. Had to spend nearly the room cost again to park and eat. Could have got somewhere much nicer if I wanted to spend over £100 and eaten and parked for free. Wouldn't come again"

"Situated near the station and at the top of the main drag, this hotel is in dire need of some tlc. They do appear to have a programme of renovations in hand, but our corner room had several cracked window panes and dated furnishings. The sink does not have a mixer tap, and the hot water is scalding, while there is almost no water pressure for the shower. "Even though there are positives in that this hotel is located in a quiet area and has ample parking I do not know how it is rated a 4 star. The decor is from the 70’s and needs a serious update. Even though the website says there is a fan in the room I had to go down to reception and ask for one. The carpets need replacing and there is no ramp into the reception area so you have to carry any luggage up and down stairs. No fridge in the room either. "Had to change room due to faulty electrics. Our original room was the smallest room I've ever seen for a twin. At the end of the day it's an easyhotel so you get what you pay for. Staff lady was very helpful."

"We thought we’d booked a room and were given a suite on two floors which was novel. The staff were great and the breakfast fine. Dinner was excellent although a little expensive although I may be poor of date. We didn’t have time to try the pool but it looked good. You do have to book a time slot. We would stay again but prefer a room in the main house."

Eg Some of the tiles over the bath need re grouting as do a couple of floor tiles.
