"My daughter and I have stayed at this hotel three times in the past year and a half due to water polo tournaments being held at U.C. Berkeley. We chose it originally due to the easy walking distance to Cal, but we grew to love the friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is very nice. The food that we ordered through room service was very good. "

"Clean room. Quiet. Very good breakfast selections and coffee available 24 hours. Good location for getting on freeway to Bay Bridge to San Francisco. Lots of eating options nearby. Lovely place to walk just a couple miles west at Marina park, with walking paths and views across the bay to San Francisco. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We have stayed here often and will be back on next visit to area. BART is within walking distance."

"Nice hotel near UC Berkeley. Plenty of parking and the hotel appears well maintained. The manager is nice and very accommodating. They have coffee all day long and it has a good taste. Neighborhood has small shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop steps away and bus #51B takes you straight to UC Berkeley’s historic entrance; avoid the parking headaches. We will return to this hotel. Thank you. "

"The hotel was very poor quality, stains on sheets when I arrived. Shared bathroom per floor, bathroom was poor quality too. Parking was okay. But this was definitely not worth it and I’d like a refund."

"Unfortunately I wouldn't stay here again. The entire place is a bit dingy and odors linger, the bathroom/bedroom layout is awkward and made opening and storing suitcases difficult, and the breakfast was mediocre and always closed early. The location was convenient for getting in/out San Francisco and we appreciated the number of close restaurants and shopping. "

"To start off the hotel was good, but I was devastated by a situation that occurred where I was locked out of my room for some odd reason and if the staff in front was not available,(mind you this was after I had came back after a night out where I went to a concert. I arrived at the hotel at 2:30 AM) I would’ve been outside of my room for the whole night until God knows when and what was more mortifying is that there was people who were watching and seeing everything happen and there was drunk...

"Parts of Emeryville may be a little iffy and it seems true for the outskirts of where this hotel is located. However, they take precautions to help provide peace of mind and safeguard their guests’ safety, which u super appreciate - security guard patrolling the parking lot at night and access to the elevator with a hotel key cards. While the outside might look a bit worn, don’t judge a book by its cover. The interior of this hotel has been renovated and is in great shape. Staff is attentive...

"This little gem has become my home away from home in Oakland. It has everything you could want in a city that already has everything—great food, cool bars, amazing music, plenty to do, etc. It's all brand new in a renovated space. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling, and the service is impeccable. There's a rooftop courtyard, a game room, and good eats and drinks right next door. It's more comfortable than anywhere else in the Bay Area, and just as accessible. Well...

"Some friends and family had concerns about the area and potential shady characters. I was very pleased with the fact that the parking included a locked/monitored gate. The room was clean. I only stayed overnight when visiting friends in the area. I would/will stay here again."
