"The hotel is showing its age, its carpets are worn & stained. The whole interior reminded me of the 1980's . But the bed linens appeared clean. there was hot water & the building while quite full with many young people was quiet enough to get rest. But if you need a cork screw, the front desk can't help you, make sure you have soap and shampoo of your own, as it's not worth using their sample packs. the ' breakfast' is very basic . its at best a 2 star motel."

"We ate dinner and breakfast in the onsite restaurant before catching the ferry. The food was tasty and served hot. It was nice to just walk to the restaurant rather than having to drive somewhere else. The room was very hot and we could not turn the heater off."

"It’s what you’d expect for the price point! The room itself was clean, including the towels and bedding. There was obvious signs of mold in the washroom though. Staff was friendly and the stay was good overall."

"I was contacted early on the day of arrival which was really nice as you immediately knew there were no problems with the reservation. Asked of any allergies were applicable in advance of breakfast the following morning. Upon arrival met by the owner and given all the information and shown to our beautiful room This location is like stepping back in time but with the modern touches in the bathroom . The bed and breakfast is very clean and the breakfast is a treat in itself with a Nova Scotia...

"We so enjoyed meeting the owners Colin and Justin, we are super fans of their tv shows. We had our dinner at the Bothy, the dish was superb. We also had breakfast and was equally delicious. The room was very tastefully decorated and the bed & towels etc were exceptionally clean. #10 at North Star Suites in Louisbourg, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia is not just a hotel it’s an experience. "Un hôtel toute à fait différent de ce que vous voyez partout! Une maison ancienne, 1837, qui garde son cachet ancien, parfaitement rénové très caquette, on se croirait chez la grand-mère. L’hôtesse, Carmen, est très accueillante, une artiste en soit. Par ailleurs, la maison est tapissée par ses œuvres, des magnifiques tableaux!!
