"There was no AC. being a listed building makes it hard to install AC. the room was so hot it was almost unbearable. One sash window could only open about 20cm at the bottom, as secondary double glazing had been installed it was not possible to open the top part. The other window only opened at the bottom but would not stay open so staff put a cushion there to keep it open. They gave us another fan which helped. Because of the heat in the room we could not close the curtains at night as that...

"We visited over Father’s Day and the only disappointing aspect was that a number of items on the menu were unavailable at breakfast. Presumably because of how busy they were but I think they should have been prepared. The room was clean and well equipped. There was sufficient parking. The staff were helpful in the hotel and accommodating when we requested a ground floor room."

"We stayed here while at the State Fayre festival and will definitely stay here again if there is another festival next year. Friendly staff, lovely gardens and comfortable rooms (although air conditioning would’ve been nice during the heatwave!) Only suggestion would be: upgrade the toiletries in the rooms please. Two tiny watery bottles is not enough!"

"Having stayed on one of hottest days of year the air conditioning in bedrooms was extremely welcome and efficient. I thought uk king size beds would be standard in hotels. Not used to a double bed but it was clean and comfortable. Bathroom spotless but struggled to access the shower over bath as you had to step in onto slope at end of bath. If you have even a minor disability then try to get an accessible room.. The pool was a good size and well maintained as was gym. Good sized pool towels....

"It literally is a lonely road as in buses pass there but finish early so if your flight is early either book a cab or walk 1hr5 like I did (would never recommend that as the environment was dark and road wasnt easy to walk on) as I arrived in had to wait for check in then got sent to the top floor with no offer of help with me suitcases (bear in mind its 3 floors no lift) not all thr staff are friendly. "This hotel just scraped into 'Okay'. Modern enough property but running on minimum staff. Sometimes Reception unattended ('due to fire walk'). We discovered as we were leaving for an engagement that in fact our hotel door did not lock. (Going in we used the key and it opened but in fact it was open anyway.
