"Exceeded our expectations. We arrived and the staff was very friendly and even accommodated an early to go breakfast for our early flight. The rooms were so clean, and modern but cozy. I’d say this was the best stay of them all in our trip in Iceland. We watched the sunset over the lighthouse from the window in our room :)"

"We planned Aurora because we wanted to spend time in Reykjavik but due to time constraints we didn’t make the trip. Be aware that Reykjavik is up to 1 hr each way. Also know that even if you have a connecting flight you have to go through additional customs once you get to Iceland and what they allow is different from the UK. They will also measure and weigh your luggage so make sure your carry on meets the restrictions."

"Close to airport. Shared kitchen and lounge area nice. Basic room with comfy bed. My room had a terrible smell - like cat pee. I kept waking up because of it. The room was warm and the window barely opens and does so into a hallway. No outside air. It could be loud so bring earplugs. Good options to be close to airport but I wouldn’t stay longer than that. "

"The Hlid Fisherman's Village was an incredibly peaceful and beautiful place to stay on our first visit to Iceland. It was only 15 minutes from Reykjavik but isolated enough that we felt like we were in our own world for the week. The rooms were lovely with great views of the water and local birds. We also appreciated having access to the hot tubs and sauna on site."

"The rooms themselves were actually very nice, clean, comfortable, and we initially had a great impression of our stay. Unfortunately, our checkout experience completely changed that. The maid's behavior was incredibly disappointing and honestly shocking. She was rude, spoke to us in a very aggressive manner, and repeatedly followed us around while we were in the process of leaving, as if she assumed we were not going to follow the checkout instructions or return the key properly. "The room was on two levels that might be a problem if you have mobility issues. It was fine, although it is older and has suffered wear and tear. It's a handy location, that does outweigh any specific issues. The check-in was fine, this seems to be how most places work that are not hotels. "Bed was comfortable, the room including the toilet and showers are clean. Make sure to bring eye mask during spring and summer and fall as the room doesn’t have blackout curtains. The room also tends to be on the hotter side. It’s a good value for a quick overnight stay and right outside the airport. The check-in and check-out was seamless."
