It was built in the 19th century as the City Council Chambers and has fabulous stained glass, tilework and woodwork. The dining room is an architect's dream - originally the council chambers. Our room was so incredible, I could have stayed here for months. Restaurant was delicious and the staff in this hotel were very good. "

"Beautiful parkland and excellent room and facilities - we enjoyed the spa and gym too. The gym was well supplied with machines and weights. All the staff were friendly and helpful and catered for a number of special requests. A shame we were there on a Monday night when the Orangery restaurant was not open as we would like to have tried it. Would definitely recommend."

"Couldn't fault anything really. Good value for money. Clean and well presented rooms. Friendly staff and there was a lovely aroma in the reception area and the lifts. Not sure if it was an air freshener but it was the first thing I noticed when I walked in. Good choice at breakfast and was nice to use the pool and facilities. All in all a very pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend. "
