"Staff was above and beyond"

"One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. So personalized and thoughtful."

"A wonderful combination of a 400 year old property and beautifully appointed traditional rooms mixed with Meiji era fineries and antiquities and the most incredibly helpful staff - many from Nepal speaking beautifully eloquent Japanese - we loved it and will be back"

"Good location and good food"

"As a cultural immersion it was ideal"

"Property was very comfortable. It's close to some onsens and public transport. The house is old and there are some damages, but other than that there were very little issues."

"Good to stay in it Location perfect Helpful staff"

"房間整潔面積比較細少缺乏舒適感，只能說是夠住的。其他設施空間亦細。膳食西式但份量比較少，自備小小乾糧比較好！用餐出菜時間跟西式所以很慢！服務人員態度是好的！酒店車亦準時和有禮貌！"

"We loved our stay! The room was quiet and comfortable. We loved the public baths and breakfast (we didn't have dinner with our room). The staff was very welcoming. There's also a shuttle from the hotel down to the bus stop in Motohakone or it's an easy 15 min walk. "

"An amazing house with great volume, vaulted ceilings, 4 bedrooms and a private onsen bath. The house was beautiful, perfectly located near all the exciting restaurants and sights around Hakone. A perfect place to spend a few days and I wish we had more time to truly enjoy it fully. Lots of windows, a beautiful garden, gorgeous interior with wood paneling everywhere and some rooms with traditional tatami mats. Highly recommend !"

"Very nice property. The home is very clean and rather spacious. Very close to nearby public transport which makes it very easy to get around. Location is rather walkable as well to other restaurants and coffee shops. Enjoyable more immersive experience to the neighborhood. There's a great little coffee house literally seconds away. Lovely amenities in the home. Personally loved the shower and large bathtub. The beds were good, but were very loud and creeky even with subtle movements. Since there...

"Beautiful room, great service. We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel!"

"This was a beautiful property. Everything was clean, updated, and easy to find. The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would love to stay here again!!"

"Beautiful Rakuten"

"A beautiful location, wonderful staff that made us excited to plan our next trip back. Luxurious rooms and a delicious meal planned where each dish was explained. What a wonderful stay."
