"This historic hotel has loads of character and is a marvellous central location. I would suggest that it needs some decorative TLC but my room was large and with 2 huge floor to ceiling windows that looked out onto the main street. Room and ensuite were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I met some of the hospitality staff and they were welcoming and cheerful. I would definitely return."

"There was only 1 fault we could find and that was drinking in the bar, extortionate prices.Apart from that 1st class across the board .Would definitely book there again but drink in the local pubs Ship Inn ,Schooner ,Black Swan ect ."

"We stayed in off season. When we arrived at 4 pm, nobody was there. Another guest let us know the keys were just behind a flower box. Got in, lovely room, clean, with plenty of amenities. Good water pressure. My only wish would be that they provide wash cloths, as well as towel racks or some form of hanging and drying our towels. There not a single hook or rack in the entire room. "Location great, nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Parking was easy. Hotel looking a little old in parts but clean room and well serviced. Good if you keep in mind it is an older hotel. "

"Nice clean room even though you could hear people above snoring and conversation.We mentioned on three separate occasions we would like twin bed but got double.Having said this it is always a pleasure staying here and everyone is so friendly and helpful."

"Lovely, clean room (Muckle). Very friendly and helpful staff. Just a few little niggles, such as the tv remote had no cover over the batteries and didn’t work properly as a result. No coffee machine or mini fridge, both pretty standard these days, even in much less expensive rooms. The decor, both room and hotel generally, is really nicely done, and overall, we had a lovely stay. No better recommendation than to say we would definitely stay there again. "
