"Room was dated, no extra lock on door and wind kept blowing under door. Bathroom dated, shower head needs to be cleaned and water spraying multiple directions. There were also hundreds of ants in the shower/tub. Rooms need to be updated, cleaned just maintained a little better."

"It’s a charming one of a kind place for those who appreciate history and antiques. It’s also walking distance from trains, restaurants and minutes from the glass beach. "Our stay here was okay, largely thanks to the staff who were incredibly pleasant and friendly. However, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The AC didn't work during our stay, and the building feels quite run-down and in need of serious repair. Because we anticipated this, we actually brought our own sheets, pillows, a Swiffer, cleaning wipes, and Lysol to deep-clean the room before unpacking. The customer service is great, but the physical property needs some major TLC."

The bedding was thin, the bed was not very supportive, the bathroom didn’t have many amenities at all. Just feels like all choices were made to save money instead of for any comforts or luxuries."

"My husband, dog, and I stayed at Mendocino Cove during their soft opening in June 2026. The property was so peaceful, pet-friendly, and extremely clean. It was a little zen oasis between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. It was so convenient to have to have pickleball courts to play at anytime, and the private beach was an absolute gem.
