"When is a resort not a resort? In this case, when it doesn't provide any facilities outside the room. There's a rooftop bar in summer but nothing at other times. Staff were pleasant but breakfast was limited and when we asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay for it. The room is large but was taken up by 4 double futons and a massive hanging screen for projecting TV/video. We felt it was intended for a large group who wanted to watch DVDs all day. The cost would have been fine split 8...

"The Ryokan has an excellent location at the seaside with many good restaurants near by. Japanese breakfast was delicious and there was a beautiful inner garden . It is conveniently located right by the bike path connecting to the Shimanami Kaido and a short walk from the Ferry / Cycle boat to Onomichi.
