"Friendly staff clean and comfy"

"This is a pet friendly hotel. I wish this hotel and many would designate rooms for pets so people can stay in a room without lingering odor. Update old air conditioner to central air and heating. Heater is slightly loud when on. Otherwise a clean hotel and staff very helpful to accommodate. Bed was comfortable. "

"The Wayside more than met our expectations for early American historic properties. It has a broad selection of antique-filled bedrooms that are clean and comfortable. The public spaces vary from an 18th century log tavern encased in the younger early 19th century spaces with elegant Victorian parlors, all immaculately dusted. "The view of the mountains from my room was majestic, but the window to view it left me wanting."

"Very clean. The air conditioner in the room didn't work, but after 13 hours driving from Florida to Virginia we were so exhausted that we weren't concerned about the air conditioner. We did tell the front desk when we checked out."

"Initially when we reviewed the pictures of this property it really looked good! The packing lot area looked very clean and the picture of the bedroom looked nice! But once we walked into our room # 109 it was a total disaster! The room has a closed up / mold smell and the carpet is very dirty, both of the windows curtains didn’t close properly and there is a cold air draft along the floor area, I did notice form along the entire baseboard area of the room. "Hotel and property was very clean. Room was clean and air/heat worked perfectly. Easy check in, check out. Breakfast was adequate but they could change up the eggs from the synthetic omelets to some scrambled."

"Always a wonderful stay. The staff is amazing and helpful and the rooms are beautiful. The kids have fun in the pool. The breakfast is a little generic (bacon and eggs were flavorless) but that is my only complaint. "

"Our first room was not cleaned when we went in so they moved us to another room. In the new room there was no body wash in the shower. Breakfast was underwhelming with limited options and what was there was dry and tasted old. There were no towels in the pool area and when asked they brought hand towels not even big enough to dry off a 6 year old! Not the experience we are used to for this brand of hotel. "

"We was pretty shocked when I got into the room. First thing I did was went into the bathroom, someone had used it without flushing,let that slide. Went to get ready for bed, there was pubic hair in the sheets,the blankets had cigarette burns and it smelled of old cigarettes. Yes I probably should've figured for the price but damn. Have some pride in your business."
