"Despite friendly staff this hotel is in a poor state. The central heating didn’t work but there was a tiny oil filled radiator in the room. The shower pressure was barely enough today wet. There was no plug in the hand basin. The room smelt musty. The bedside lamp couldn’t work as there was no plug socket nearby etc"

"The room was clean, large and well maintained. We were welcomed by a friendly lady (apologies i can not remember her name) even on our return in the evening we sat and spoke in the bar area. Great value for money and we would definitely return."

"OMG never seen such an awfull appartment, so dirty, cold, no WIFI, no teresteral TV, living room window was closed but didnt feel like it. Took about 20 mins to get into appartment as lock is knackered. We tried to get in touch many times onse so we couldnt stay there. We continued to try to contact every day and Hotels.com did as well. They eventually did try to call us but I missed the call, they followed this up with an email to which I did reply to twice, but still nothing. This has been very stressfull as the reason we were there was to settle my Mum into a care home. We were hoping to cook there but obv couldn't. We want our money back at least. I can't fault hotels.com as they have gone above and beyond I hold Sykes Cottages wholly responsible. I am hoping with this will prompt them to get in touch. Please stay clear of this property I would hate for anyone else to experience this. "

"Dishonest host contacted us directly and cancelled our booking hours before travel with some silly excuse about paying too much money in fees to the booking website. Of course AFTER taking a damage deposit and added pet fees and late checkout fees which they said was fully refundable however when asking for my money back said that they had 14 days to return deposits as per the terms and conditions however NEVER RETURNED my money and read all my messages to them before they blocked my number! Hotels dot com intervened and issued a refund however only in one key cash points as they themselves were unable to contact the thieving caravan owners! Steer clear of this property at all cost "

"Really nice place, little bit tight on space to move around the bed but it is what it is. Floor is a little squeaky, so that made me a bit concerned for the people below with me walking around. But apart from that it was perfect for my weekend trip. And being so close to the sea front for a morning/evening walk or to fgo sun yourself on the beach it's in a brilliant location."
