"Location is good. Lots of ants and insects in the room. Host was welcoming. But be aware of food cost. Ask price before ordering. We order seafood dinner for three. He made combination of fish, calamari, tiny crabs and few shrimp and charged 50 dollars(water for drink). We paid as we did not ask before eating. Then he came back and ask 800 rupees for driver’s break fast. We paid. A minute later he came for driver’s accommodation cost. At that point we said, NO. We stayed 2 weeks in Sri Lanka....

The manager/desk man was condescending, we had to wait for our room, the room was basic in the extreme, poor quality bedding and towels, an ancient bed and threadbare mattress. The room had thin walls with a lot of noise from next door. Ordering food had a 45 min delay, although the (very basic) eating area was deserted. "Very disappointed, the hotel looked lovely in the photos but reality was a different story. With the exception of one waiter none of the staff seemed to know what they were doing. The pool was filthy and the water was green. The room was shabby and in desperate need of a refurb, broken bathroom fixtures, hole in sheet, dirty curtains, broken tie-backs. Bar area was okay but at breakfast our table was covered in flies. Avoid this place at all costs "
