2/10 Terrible

During the planning of our vacation, we evaluated various hotels. The hotel we ultimately selected was recommended due to its exceptional 10/10 reviews, which depicted it as an opulent establishment in an ideal location. However, this description was inaccurate. The hotel is situated in a residential area and does not offer the seclusion suggested by the images. The photographs depict a beach adjacent to the hotel, visible across a major highway. Upon entering our room, we discovered that it is part of an apartment complex that combines local residents with rented individual units. The building was originally a motel that has been converted into an apartment complex. It does not meet the criteria of a luxury apartment. Upon entering our unit, we found broken walls and wall plates, and the smoke alarm was missing from the wall plate. The air conditioner is a window unit. The two-bedroom apartment unit we were sold is actually a one-bedroom unit with a side unit, similar to older hotels. There is a locked door between the two rooms, unlike hotels where front desk staff can unlock doors. When we attempted to unlock the door, the owner informed us that no one was present and that he would attempt to contact the cleaning staff. I wanted a refund and Expedia refused our refund request.
