"Had to click on something to get to this part of the review. Never actually stayed at the hotel, but spoke to a lady called Catherine who was brilliant! We had to cancel due to family commitments, but good old Expedia wouldn’t refund as they said I was too late to do as, but I took out the cancellation cover with them which said I could cancel up to the 3/5, but they thought different. I will never use Expedia again. You need to speak to people not robots!!"

"We stayed at the hotel over the weekend for a wedding, and overall it was a really pleasant experience. The hotel itself was clean, tidy and well presented throughout, and every member of staff we came across was genuinely friendly and helpful. Our room (333) was modern and well equipped, with fast Wi-Fi that was easy to connect to, a large TV with plenty of channels, and a really handy wall plate with HDMI and USB connections. There were also plenty of plug sockets around the room, which is always appreciated. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the shower was powerful and got very hot, although the temperature control was quite sensitive, so it could be a bit fiddly to get just right. The air conditioning worked well, and the room was nice and quiet overall. There was also a window you could open, although it was a little awkward to close again. The only real downside in the room was the bed. It was quite hard and a bit too bouncy for our liking, and it felt like it dipped slightly in the middle, so we kept rolling towards each other during the night. We had dinner in the brasserie on the Friday evening. I had the pizza and my wife had the pulled pork burger. The food was decent and reasonably priced, although it came out a bit lukewarm rather than properly hot. That said, the staff were great and service was smooth 👍 Breakfast was actually a highlight. It’s usually where hotels fall short, but this one was surprisingly good except coffee machine is horrendous."

"The bathroom ceiling exhibited evidence of fungal growth. The hotel experienced a temporary shortage of tea bags due to a delayed delivery; however, the staff provided exceptional service, and the quality of the linen was notably high."

"We had to search for staff so that we could check in, the reception floor was sticky, there was no disabled access to rooms or disabled parking bays, upstairs smelled of cigarette smoking, there was a hole in the bedroom door, the bathroom fixings were completely rusty and the springs had come through the mattress. I tried to find staff to discuss the issues with but was told there was no manager until later but they would contact me. No phone call and no response to my email"

"The venue was OK, good layout with easy access to room, decent bar with sports on TV, etc. The bedroom itself was not good. It's cheap accommodation so my expectations were low anyway but the room really let down the rest of the venue by a long way. It had an awful smell in the room like cabbage that never went away. The shower walls had mould on them which again wasn't ideal. The room was next to a generator so in the morning at around 6:30am a really loud motor sound would be constantly ongoing. This wasn't ideal for me as i had been working until 2am so the early wake up call from the generator was not welcome. Also, you can hear the music from the bar/pub area through the floors so if you're looking for an early night, this might not be ideal. This didn't effect me too much apart from when i wanted to grab a nap before working through the night, but good for others to know. I didn't utilise the parking on site because i was in a very large van so i parked on the housing estate across the road which was only 2 minute walk to the venue. The car park seemed OK from a visual inspection. It looked a bit compact but would be fine in a car/small van. The massive plus was the staff. The staff were actually brilliant. Very welcoming, helpful and provided a very professional service the whole time. Very thorough when giving advice and explaining the hotel layout. Good work! I don't think i would stay here again unless it improved on things like cleanliness."

"The staff were incredibly kind, giving me an upgrade to the honeymoon suite. The hotel itself is tired and access through the pub isn’t the best welcome, but the staff more than made up for it. That’s bed was comfy and there was a roll top bath in the room, as well as an em suite with a short. Great value for money."
